We need allies to join us in advocating for better accessibility and awareness of diverse needs in our communities and workplaces! Allies are encouraged to join our DAIS Google Group. This group acts as our email list for things like learning about disability issues, posting announcements, looking for resources, and keeping up on DAIS activities. This group includes both disabled members and allies.

You can send to the group by emailing disabledinspace@googlegroups.com. To join from a non-gmail address, email disabledinspace+subscribe@googlegroups.com. Some institutional emails cannot be added this way- if you have trouble, email disabledinspace@gmail.com we’ll add you from our end.
While we appreciate and are encouraged by the support of our friends and colleagues, our internal online network is not for allies. Disability is a very sensitive topic and not all members are out about their conditions, thus it’s important to maintain that as an environment where people feel safe to talk openly. Mixing personal and professional life also means we have to be vigilant about potential harm to people’s careers that could result from allowing a membership that is very broad. However, allies will still be able to meet and interact with disabled members through the Google Group!
